My work in photography and visual media interacts with a curiosity and empathy for people, the environment and social issues. I believe that creative process can enhance wellbeing, health, and connection, both on an individual and community level. Professionally, my photography work over the past 15 years has spanned portraiture, architecture, landscape and documentary, and I have worked in various locations across Australia and internationally.

Alongside my photography and video practice I have designed and facilitated a number of participatory photography workshops for marginalised groups in both school and community settings. In recent years I have undertaken further studies in the therapeutic effect of working with photography on an individual, group and societal level using a variety of techniques. I am passionate about developing this aspect of my work further, and believe the arts can have a positive impact in health, wellbeing and community.

Natalie has a B Media and Communication from Macquarie University, BA Photography from RMIT, Masters in Media Arts and Production from UTS, Therapeutic Photography Studies from RGU, and PhotoVoice UK Facilitator training.
